I am a barrister with more than 20 years of experience in Immigration, Asylum and Human Rights Law. I am a member of Imperium Chambers in London which specialises in Direct (Public) Access work, so I am well-equipped with a good administrative team as support.
As a barrister I appear in every type of case in the First-Tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal - from Student and Visitor applications, right the way through to the most complex Asylum and Deportation appeals. A large component of my daily work is representing clients with Human Rights appeals, which covers a very broad spectrum of work. I have a wealth of experience dealing with individuals, families and those with particular vulnerabilities, including children and those with physical and mental health problems.
My courtroom advocacy has most recently been described as “very impressive” and “highly persuasive”. I also pride myself on excellent standards of written work, for example drafting grounds of appeal to the Upper Tribunal or for Judicial Review. I am the published author of an Immigration Textbook and have also been published elsewhere.
I am a Fee-paid Judge of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber and I regularly sit as a Judge at the Hatton Cross hearing centre in Feltham. I am also a fee-paid Judge of the Social Entitlement Chamber and have expertise in Social Security Law.
I am committed to public access because I believe that very often the best interests of clients are served with careful attention and care from the outset and it’s also more affordable for the client.
My career as a specialist barrister and my Judicial experience mean that I bring a level of professionalism and maturity to all my clients. I fully understand just how important the case is for you. I fight hard for my clients but I am also aware of the bigger picture and possible alternatives and I will take time to ensure that I advise you of the most efficient, cost-effective and simple pathway to the outcome you want.
