Julie O'Malley

I am an experienced barrister of 30 years' call, with expertise in

  • Divorce, separation and money issues, for married and unmarried couples.
  • Disputes over children - maintenance and contact

I deal with ancillary relief cases involving multi-million divorces, right through to disputes over tenancy rights

I also represent clients in disputes over child care and contact, whether acting for Father or Mother, Civil Partners or partners in same-sex marriages.

In all cases I will handle the issues with care, sensitivity and responsibility.

My approach

I have a very straightforward approach to litigation, with an emphasis on keeping costs low and negotiating a settlement if that is in the best interests of my client.

I have a keen eye for detail.

I have a very good record of handling cases with sensitivity, especially for nervous or disadvantaged clients.

My work

I have conducted a range of serious cases.

In Children Act cases, these include at least five cases a year where a child may be subject to care or adoption orders.

I have very extensive experience representing parents in disputes over contact and residence, where my skills in negotiation and mediation are fully utilised.

I also represent many clients each year in financial disputes after separation, in Ancillary Relief and TLATA (unmarried couples) proceedings.
