Sean currently sits as a lay panel member in the Medical Practitioners Tribunal determining Fitness to Practice Proceedings brought by the General Medical Council against Doctors. He has an excellent working knowledge of regulatory and disciplinary law and is happy to take instructions to represent either regulatory authorities or individuals in fitness to practice or disciplinary matters before regulatory bodies.
Sean can also advise practitioner and registrants on appeals and judicial reviews from adverse decision by regulatory bodies and in respect of employment law matters.
Prior to joining 39 Park Square Sean worked as a Solicitor Advocate heading up the Immigration department at a regional firm of Solicitors.
First accredited by the Law Society as an immigration and asylum specialist in 2005 and as a Supervisor in 2006, Sean has previously managed the largest immigration appeal team in the North of England and worked as a Supervisor at a Law Centre.
Specialising in all areas of Immigration, Asylum, EU and Nationality law, Sean is also happy to appear in cases in other areas of law particularly where there is an overlap with immigration and human rights issues.
Since 2011, Sean has been sitting as a Lay Panellist in the Medical Practitioners Tribunal.
Sean is a member of the Immigration Legal Practitioners Association and is able to take instructions from members of the public on a Direct Access basis.
