Timothy deals with Liquidations (voluntary and compulsory) including injunctions to restrain presentation and/or advertisement of Petitions; Contentious Administration and LPA Receivership actions; contested costs issues arising from Petitions.

About me

As the present leader of the Direct Public Access Bar Timothy Becker is widely regarded not just as a noted and innovative litigator but as one of the small core of barristers who in 2004 saw the all round benefits of permitting the public to instruct a barrister directly.  Working from a small chambers in Piccadilly,London Tim is assisted by David Foreman who, as Clerk to Chambers, acts not just as the individual responsible for agreeing fees but also as a valuable liaison point between client and barrister greatly assisting and facilitating  contact with Tim  who  prides himself in being available for clients long after most other litigators have  headed home for the night. After so many years dealing with the public directly Tim understands that taking the mystic out of the law is a major bonus in the barrister/client relationship thus he ensures that all stages there is complete transparency not only as to fees but as to what is going on with the client's case.  Unlike a Partner in an expensive solicitor firm Tim solely deals not just with court and advisory work but with client correspondence as well. There are no expensive assistants to be paid. Though deadlines are sometimes hard to accurately predict Tim is happy to tailor his turnaround times to the particular needs of a client. Unlike most direct access barristers Tim is also accredited for conduct of litigation which means that he can come on the court record for a client though the responsibility this brings comes at a premium.

Turning to his practice areas Tim divides his time into 2 distinct areas firstly a broad commercial and traditional chancery practice and secondly in Financial Remedy claims and Children Act disputes.

What my clients say

"Hi Tim,

I hope you are ok and had a good journey back home yesterday. I just wanted to say a big THANKYOU !!!!
You were fan bloodytastic in that court room against the muppets OVH.
Im so glad we approached you for help. We all loved the banter and dry sense of humor, being a scouser you know we love all that haha.
You made a stressful day more relaxed and funny and I think we will get a good result too when the judge makes his final decision.
I will definately be recommending you.

Good luck in all you do Tim

Thanks again"

"Hi David

I would just like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. For all your help and advice. For all your support by keeping constant contact with me and reassuring me each step of the way. But most of all for your recommendation or Mr Becker, throughout the court proceedings he was so calm, professional and clearly an expert in his field.

I would just like you both to know you have made a massive difference to all our lives especially my two sons who have suffered so much in the past few year. I could not recommend you enough to anyone.

May God bless you.

Thank you so so so much

Best wishes "

"Thanks very much for your help and guidance in securing Mr Becker's assistance with my bankruptcy case. You were right when you said he would pull a rabbit out of a hat when there seems to be no way. Mr Becker handled the defence of the hearing with his quick thinking and knowledge, swiftly securing the adjournment required in this case. The other side certainly didn't see it coming. It was very nice to have Mr Becker with his calm and composed manner talking me through what to expect and what steps to follow. I sincerely appreciate the help and support i have received and i am confident in Mr Becker's ability and expertise. I will continue to use his services and highly recommend him. I am very happy with his understanding of my case and what is required to resolve the case. The conscientious manner in which the hearing was handled is very commendable and the chats with Mr Becker certainly eased my nerves before and after the hearing.

My sincere thanks to you and Mr Becker for your support and i look forward to working through the rest of the case with you."

"Good morning Timothy,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to amend your Notice of Opposition however as I expected you have done a splendid job and I do not feel that there is anything we can add at this stage.

Yours sincerely,
