MICHAEL CHAMBERS

I have a sensitive and realistic approach to clients who struggle to be objective and clear when on the receiving end of what is often felt to be a relentless, unfair and slow process.

Private  child arrangements including residence and contact.

  My experience includes

  • Successful representation  at a fact finding with  numerous allegations of domestic violence including controlling and coercive behaviour across a number of years. No allegations proven.

  • In a defiantly contested child arrangements dispute the client, a well-respected professional faced multiple allegations including document falsification, supplying drugs, fraud, manipulation of the court proceedings and controlling and coercive behaviour.  Contrary to CAFCASS recommendations all allegations unproven and client achieved increased child contact.

  • Agreed a realistic level of child contact without the need for a contested hearing

Financial Arrangements Proceedings

Recent instructions include

  • Client in financial remedy hearing in which parties disputed controlling and coercive behaviour, the existence of a pre-nuptial agreement and whether  the home that they shared together was the FMH.

  • Advice and representation at Appeal against Financial Remedies Hearing decision.

What my clients say

‘ … Mr Chambers was very honest with me from the very start of contact. My papers were sorted and statements drawn up  for me to present to the Judge and the respondent’s counsel. I then requested Mr Chambers represent me in court as I found the whole case stressful. I was calm ar court, and Mr Chambers was professional, and honest from the outset.’ Mrs CB North London

‘The case went very well and the outcome achieved was fantastic. Michael was very well prepared for the hearing, and his cross examination of the witness was exceptional. Despite having a very difficult witness to cross examine, Michael was relentless in representing our Client, and gave a very convincing submission to the Judge, which ultimately resulted in the case being successful for our Client. We very much look forward to working with Michael again

"We instructed Michael at 8pm on a Friday night in advance of a 2 day trial of an unusual and robustly contested application for a financial order. We were extremely impressed in the way he was able to absorb a vast amount of information and identify some of the complex issues in dispute. Despite the very limited preparation time available to him, he was excellent in cross examination and put forward very convincing arguments at the submissions stage. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and we will without a doubt instruct him in future."

"Good morning, I would just like to say thank you for your guidance, support and reassurance with the court case on Friday 12th November, I really don't think my daughter could of walked in there not knowing you would be by her side , in her words you were amazing and after 18 months she was listened too ,and can finally move forward with her life and the childrens, thank you again regards Deborah."
