A profile built to be found
Photograph, practice summary, areas of law, year of call, fee approach. We draft it with you; you approve or rewrite it.
MyBarrister is where people who already want a barrister go to find one. Your profile sits on the specialism pages they search. When they enquire, our team checks the matter is genuine and a fit for your practice before passing it to you. You decide whether to take it, and you quote the client yourself. One flat monthly membership. No commission, nothing per enquiry.
Open to barristers who hold the Bar Standards Board's Public Access qualification. £150 a month, billed monthly, cancel any time.
Most people looking for a barrister start with the problem they have, not with a name. We built the platform around that.
Something close to the query in the box above. Our specialism pages are written at length and structured for search, so they rank for the searches your future clients actually type.
"family barrister essex"Each of the 57 areas of law has its own page, with FAQs that answer what clients ask before they enquire, and a list of the barristers who cover it. You are on that list.
Your practice, your experience, your areas and your approach to fees, written with you and approved by you before it goes live. This is what persuades them to enquire.
The enquiry comes to MyBarrister. Our team confirms it is a genuine matter, filters out anything that is not, and matches it to your practice. You are then offered the lead: accept it, and you quote the client on the work yourself.
No pitch deck. A conversation about your practice and whether Direct Access clients are already looking for what you do.
Where you would appear. The specialism and regional pages your profile would sit on, and who else is listed there.
What the enquiries look like in your field. The kind of matters that come through in your area of law, and how they reach you.
How the profile gets written. What we need from you, how long it takes, and how you approve it.
Whether it is worth £150 a month for you. If it is not a fit for your practice, Harry will say so.
Most barristers I speak to already have the Public Access qualification. What they don't have is a route for those clients to find them. The call is about working out, honestly, whether that route exists for your areas of law.
You did the training. The public can instruct you without a solicitor. What most barristers lack is not the qualification but a way for those clients to find them. That is the gap MyBarrister fills.
Direct Access (also called Public Access) is the arrangement that lets a member of the public or a business instruct a barrister directly, without going through a solicitor first. Barristers who have completed the Bar Standards Board's Public Access training may accept instructions this way. MyBarrister exists to bring those clients to you.
Photograph, practice summary, areas of law, year of call, fee approach. We draft it with you; you approve or rewrite it.
Practise in three areas? You appear on all three pages, and on your regional page. There is no cap and no extra charge per area.
Nothing reaches you until our team has checked it is a real matter and a fit for your practice. You choose whether to accept, and you quote the client directly. No percentage of your fee, ever.
Clients arrive already understanding they can instruct you without a solicitor, so you spend less time explaining and more time advising.
Search optimisation, paid search and content are run centrally by MyBarrister, across all 57 areas of law and every UK region.
You accept the leads you want and decline the rest. You quote your own fees and deal with the client on your own terms. Nothing is agreed on your behalf.
One membership covers your listing across every area of law you practise in. Billed monthly, so the commitment stays small while you see what the platform brings you.
A single instruction of any substance covers several months of membership. Everything after that is margin on work you did not have to go looking for, at fees you set yourself.
A fifteen-minute call to check the fit. If you already know you want in, create your account on the portal instead.
Free to create. You choose the £150 a month membership from inside your account, billed monthly, cancel any time.
A photograph, a short practice summary in your own words, your areas of law, confirmation of your Public Access qualification, and how you charge. We draft the profile and you approve it.
Your profile appears on your specialism and regional pages, and enquiries start arriving directly.
Yes. Membership is open to barristers who have completed the Bar Standards Board's Public Access training and are entitled to accept instructions directly from the public. We will ask you to confirm this when you send us your material.
None. MyBarrister is a membership, not a referral agency. You pay £150 a month and keep 100% of the fees you agree with your clients. We never quote on your behalf and never take a percentage.
Every enquiry comes to MyBarrister first. Our team reviews it, filters out spam and anything that is not a genuine legal matter, and identifies the barristers whose practice and region fit. If that is you, you are offered the lead with the details of the matter. You can accept it and quote the client directly, or decline it. Enquiries are never sold on and we never take a cut of what you charge.
We cannot promise a number, and we would be wary of anyone who did. Volume depends on your areas of law, your region and how complete your profile is. What we can say is that every lead you are offered has been checked first, ten enquiries cost exactly the same as none, and a single instruction of substance covers several months of membership.
Yes. There is no minimum term. Cancel from your account before your next billing date and your profile is taken down at the end of the paid month.
No. Barristers listed on MyBarrister are individually regulated by the Bar Standards Board and remain responsible for their own professional conduct, insurance and client care. MyBarrister does not provide legal services and is neither a chambers nor a referral agency.
Yes. Most members are in chambers. MyBarrister sits alongside your existing practice and brings you Direct Access instructions your clerks would not otherwise see.
Give them a name to find. Fifteen minutes with Harry will tell you whether MyBarrister can help your practice. Membership is £150 a month with no commission and no minimum term.
