About Angela
Angela Sharma is an experienced barrister specialising in all areas of immigration law, including citizenship, nationality and right of abode; settlement; EU law and the EU Settlement Scheme; human rights; visits and temporary purposes; students; family routes and family reunion; refugees, asylum, humanitarian protection, discretionary leave and statelessness; deportation; detention and bail; points-based applications and administrative reviews; appeals to the First-tier and Upper Tribunals and the Court of Appeal; and judicial review.
She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2019, following a career of more than 14 years in corporate banking and aviation negotiating complex contracts. Her practice includes appeals against refusal, challenges to existing case law and third-country asylum cases. Where clients face criminal matters alongside a pending immigration case, she has managed both simultaneously, conducting defence work in the Crown Court on charges including assault, drug possession, proceeds of crime and drink-driving.
