Crime, public & regulatory
Crime, public and regulatory barristers, instructed directly.
For criminal allegations, regulatory action, public law challenges and inquests, a barrister can advise you and represent you.
When you face a criminal allegation, a regulator, a disciplinary panel or a decision by a public body, the consequences can affect your liberty, your livelihood and your reputation. A barrister gives you a clear assessment and robust representation when it matters most.
Through Direct Access you can instruct a barrister directly for many of these matters, without going through a solicitor first, though for some criminal cases a litigator is also needed and your barrister will advise you. Barristers are regulated by the Bar Standards Board.
