Gary Summers

Gary Summers is a barrister with over 30 years' experience, specialising in private prosecutions, commercial disputes, fraud, criminal and professional investigations, insolvency and bankruptcy, and professional conduct and discipline. Holding a litigation licence awarded in 2014, he is engaged directly by clients to guide them strategically through their disputes.

He began his legal career in 1980 as a solicitor practising criminal and family law in an East London firm, qualifying as a barrister in 1985. That background gives him a practical understanding of attending to clients, preparing documentation and controlling costs. He represents individuals, many of them professionals, entrepreneurs, company directors and high-profile figures, as well as commercial organisations and public bodies, and has a reputation for resolving highly complex and difficult cases. In 2020 he founded Resolution, a practice model enabling affordable access to specialist counsel through fixed or retainer-based fees without an intermediary solicitor.

My approach

Gary aims to stay with a client throughout a case, leaving no stone unturned. He is open and transparent, declining to "sugar-coat" the challenges a client may face, and sees navigating clients through difficult legal circumstances to a successful outcome as his life's work.
