About Anjulika

Anjulika Vatish is a barrister practising principally in family and children law, alongside immigration. She appears in Children Act and family proceedings in courts across the country, acting for applicants and respondents, and is renowned for being approachable, meticulously prepared and tenacious in court. She is committed to ensuring access to justice for clients from ethnic-minority backgrounds and on low incomes.

In children work she represents mothers, fathers, children and other family members in private and public law cases, including child arrangements, prohibited steps and specific issue orders, parental alienation, domestic abuse, child abduction, adoption, special guardianship, and urgent matters requiring injunctions, wardship or the inherent jurisdiction. She has acted in complex and intractable disputes and in lengthy fact-finding and final hearings, and undertakes care proceedings for local authorities, parents and family members. She also represents parties in non-molestation and occupation order applications.

In immigration she has acted regularly for the Home Office in the First-tier Tribunal across the full range of matters, drafts grounds of appeal for UK and EEA cases, and provides advocacy in the First-tier and Upper Tribunals and on judicial review.

Anjulika originally practised in criminal prosecution, spending over eleven years as a senior Crown prosecutor before moving into private practice, and can advise clients in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
