About Gregory
Gregory Dowell is a senior barrister with more than 30 years' experience at the Bar. His practice covers wills and probate, both contentious and non-contentious; family law, including private law Children Act matters, financial remedies on divorce and for unmarried and same-sex couples, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation, Inheritance Act claims, TOLATA disputes and international family law (overseas financial relief, child relocation and abduction); and general civil litigation, advisory and drafting work.
Previously a civil servant for over 13 years, he was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Middle Temple in 1990, undertook pupillage in one of the largest London sets, and practised in London until 2016 before becoming a sole practitioner in Kent. Although based on the Kent coast, he has always travelled throughout England and Wales, and now also appears at remote hearings, so location presents no difficulty.
My approach
Known as a robust and assertive advocate, Gregory prides himself on being friendly and approachable while remaining honest and forthright. He always gives clients an honest appraisal of their case, and will tell them plainly where prospects are slim, mindful that it is the client's money at stake.
