About Seema
I do lots of contact work which usually involves allegations and cross allegations of domestic abuse, violence and rape. I have represented both those accused of violence and the alleged victims. I therefore can see how to fight both sides and can anticipate what arguments will be made by the other side. I also do a lot of financial remedy work and can help you run your case from start to finish without using a solicitor.
I have represented clients who are, among many legal problems they are having:
- looking to re-locate with their children abroad and where the other parent is resisting
- wanting to enforce their contact orders where the other parents is being wholly unreasonable
- non molestation orders and other injunctions
- residence and contact orders
- Prohibited Steps Order to prevent one parent taking the other out of the country
- child abduction
- forced Marriages - on behalf of parents and the child being forced
- represent interested grandparents and other wider family members
- divorce and money related matters;
- defending allegations of domestic abuse/ getting fact findings struck out.

What clients say
Typically my clients are overwhelmingly pleased with my representation of them. Please see the good reviews when you google 33 Bedford Row there are many and all excellent.
I contacted, and ultimately instructed Seema Kansal who is a Barrister, to act for me, via direct access, after a very upsetting and drawn out situation in respect of achieving more time with my 2 year old son who was being breastfed. Any Dad should know that they can save significant costs by not using a solicitor and that instructing a Barrister to advocate, via direct access on your behalf in court can save many thousands of pounds. Your barrister will not be able to liaise with the other sides solicitor directly but when it comes to the court process in many cases a barrister is all you will need. My sons mother was denying me meaningful and significant overnight access on account that he was still breastfeeding past two years of age. In addition to this, my ex partner was making many upsetting allegations about me which were untrue. Seema Kansal has helped me achieve additional time with my son. Including consecutive overnight time at the weekends. Seema is, having witnessed her in court, a very skilled negotiator. Without Seema I'd have struggled to get to a point whereby I'd have anywhere near as much access to my son who is, as mentioned, 2 years of age. I have been lucky to be in the company of Seema for many hours as a result of three court appearances. Unfortunately, the family court process is not a quick one, and it has is not been without costs, but Seema has made the experience bearable and I see the value in the work Seema has done for me. Whilst remaining entirely professional Seema has, when appropriate, injected a wit and humour at times in what has been an incredibly stressful and upsetting time for me. Putting a smile on my face (when sometimes close to tears) all the time reassuring me that things will be ok. Along with her obvious experience she is a fantastic person to be around. I urge any father, in similar circumstances to me to consider Seema to act on your behalf. Having had a hearing delayed by many hours and having sat with Seema I have seen the way Seema keeps fastidious notes in respect of my case. My case has not been straightforwards. There has been many hurdles to overcome. Seema has tackled these hurdles. I have been very straight forwards and honest, which is important. I have a close family member who is also a Barrister, but specialises in a different aspect of law. When discussing the work Seema has done for me with them they have commented on how excellent Seema has been. Which I think is all telling. I can only give five stars in this review. If I could give more I would. I'd also like to mention Charlotte, the Clerk who acts on behalf of Seema. Charlotte has been great, coming back to me quickly.
We had the pleasure to work with Seema Kansal who was instructed at a very short notice on a complex case. Needless saying, she was very thorough and was able to deliver a good outcome. She was great to work with and kept in constant contact when needed. I would most certainly give her 10 out of 10 and after seeing her in action, I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a good Barrister. Seema's considerable experience and understanding of Law was instrumental in delivering a fair hearing. Thank you Seema! Best wishes, Greg
Seema Kansal represented me and she was absolutely brilliant. The whole process of engaging with seema from start to end has been incredible. Seema is professional, hardworking, supportive and empathetic. Her support has really been appreciated and I would highly recommend her.
Seema Kansal represented my partner in a complicated case to get his daughter out of the custody. Seema was very thorough in her research, presented my partner's case strongly in court and her dedication and drive to achieve all this (despite being 9 months pregnant) is admirable and we could not have asked for a better barrister!
Seema Kansal is representing me in a family case which involves my 5 children, the case is extremely complicated and she has managed impossible victories every time we have attended court. My children's futures are in her hands and I have complete trust and confidence that she will achieve the best possible result. I can't thank her enough for her hard work, professionalism and support.
