Alexander Bunzl

I represent my clients at all stages of divorce proceedings. This has included short marriages as well as long marriages. Many of these are 'needs cases'. I also have cases where the assets are sizeable. My experience in property & housing law has assisted clients where the former matrimonial home is in dispute.

In addition to financial remedies, I have ample experience of child arrangement orders as well as non-molestation and occupation injunctions.

My approach

I will always strive to achieve your objectives while providing clear and frank advice. I am responsive and usually complete work within 48-hours.

My work

I frequently appear in the Family Court, including at the High Court. I recently obtained judgment for a large proportion of the equity in the family home, arguing my client’s short marriage should be considered within the context of five years of cohabitation. In opposing an application to vary a final order, I successfully argued that an increase in the maintenance should be limited to inflationary adjustments. I have obtained injunctions for parties applying to prevent the sale of matrimonial assets.

I pride myself on giving frank advice in conferences while prioritising client objectives. I have advised about the rights of grandparents to apply for contact under the Children Act and considered the application of the Hague Rules where the children attended school in another jurisdiction. I have advised on whether loans from family members can be included in the asset schedule in financial remedy proceedings.

About me

I am regularly instructed in commercial, property and divorce cases. My work includes breaches of contract, landlord & tenant litigation, and complex disputes over real estate. I frequently appear in the County Court as well as the Senior Courts and have won multiple appeals. Outside of practice, I lecture on cruises about history.
