Andrew Alexander is a highly experienced child law practitioner specialising in public and private law proceedings. 

Andrew is robust and straightforward in his approach to both his lay and professional clients and believes it is very important that his lay clients are put at ease and fully understand proceedings. Andrew is very experienced in dealing with vulnerable clients and is adept at making sure clients are listened to and supported when facing the most stressful and emotional periods in their lives. Andrew is adept at communicating his advice to both professional and lay clients.

Andrew’s cross-jurisdictional experience of both Family Law and Immigration, Asylum law & Human Rights Law has proved crucial when representing clients.   

Andrew acts on behalf of parents, children’s guardians, competent children, and intervenors. He has extensive experience in a wide range of cases which include:

  • Andrew has provided lectures and seminars to professional clients.
  • Andrew has been a trainer and an exam invigilator for HJT (professional legal training in the field of Asylum, Immigration and Human Rights Law).
  • Andrew has in past provided extensive training to the Home Office, UKBA (United Kingdom Border Agency).
  • Andrew has worked as a court appointed expert witness within Public Law Proceedings that involve children.

Andrew understands Malayalam and limited Tamil and has extensive knowledge and experience of South Asian cultures.

 

Andrew was a Non-Executive Director of the Eagle House Group, Schools for children with Autism at all age groups. The Eagle House Group was created in 2004 to support families of children with autism.
